Dr. Ryan Riddle is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is co-appointed as a Health Science Specialist at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He received his Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Research in Dr. Riddle’s laboratory is focused on 1) understanding the role of Wnt/-catenin signaling in musculoskeletal development and the response to mechanical, hormonal, and other anabolic signals, and 2) determining the contributions of osteoblast intermediary metabolism and bone-derived endocrine factors to the coordination of whole-body metabolism. His work is supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Institutes of Health
