Dr. Anthony Heaney is an experienced endocrinologist and Professor in Residence of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Heaney’s research interests include the pathogenesis of pituitary tumors and identification of novel molecular targets for innovative treatments for pituitary and other neuroendocrine tumors. He is a widely published author and has written many articles for several peer-reviewed publications including Nature Medicine, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Cancer Research, and Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. He has contributed book chapters to several medical texts, including Bailliere’s Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Oxford Textbook of Endocrinology, and Endocrine Updates. He was previously Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism and serves as reviewer for several journals. Dr. Heaney is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, former President of the International Pituitary Society, and an active member of several scholarly organizations, including The Endocrine Society, The Pituitary Society, and The North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society. He has earned several awards and honors, including a Fulbright Scholarship (1997), the Merck Senior Fellows Award (1998), the UCLA Chancellors Award (2000), Best Doctors in America (2009-Present), and Los Angeles Super Doctors (2019-Present).
