I am Tanya Pattnaik, 4th year PhD candidate in Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. My work focuses on understanding the changes in neural circuitry changes during pregnancy and lactation in mice. My latest research shows that the dopamine signalling is majorly altered in pregnant and lactating mice, and this drives their increased food motivation.
