Dr Demirbilek is a full professor of pediatric endocrinology and currently works as a consultant and lecturer at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, the Ihsan Dogramaci Children’s Hospital Department of Pediatric Endocrinology, in Ankara, Turkiye. His primary area of interest is congenital beta-cell disorders, including congenital hyperinsulinism and neonatal/monogenic diabetes. He has been joined to Professor K. Hussain’s CHI team for a year as “Clinical Fellow” and “Visiting Researcher” at the UCL, University College London, Institute of Child Health, Clinical Molecular Genetics Units and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Department of Pediatric Endocrinology. He is an HI expert and the leading physician dedicated to the care of congenital hyperinsulinism in Turkiye. He is a member of the “CRN-Congenital Hyperinsulinism Collaborative Research Network”. He is also the founder and president of the Turkish Congenital Hyperinsulinism Family Association (KoHHADER). Dr Demirbilek is a Board Member and Secretary General of the Turkish Society of Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes, with a specific task for the international relations and relations with the European Society of Pediatric Endocrine (ESPE), where he serves as a member of the European Pediatric Endocrine Training (EUPET) program development team. Dr Demirbilek is a member of the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), the Endocrine Society (ENDO), and the Turkish Congenital Hyperinsulinism Family Association (KoHHADER - President).
