Dr. Monica Christmas is a nationally recognized expert in midlife women’s health and menopause care. She serves as Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief of the Section of Comprehensive Gynecology at the University of Chicago, where she practices general gynecology with clinical expertise in uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, sexual dysfunction, and menopause. She has advanced training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and office-based procedures.
Dr. Christmas is Director of both the Menopause Program and the Center for Women’s Integrated Health at UChicago Medicine. She is a certified menopause practitioner and currently serves as Associate Medical Director of The Menopause Society, where she helps lead national initiatives in education, research, outreach, and clinical care improvement.
Her academic work focuses on menopause care and health disparities, and she has authored multiple textbook chapters, review articles, and research publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her clinical and scholarly work, Dr. Christmas is deeply committed to community engagement and patient education, and she is widely recognized for her compassionate care. She has been repeatedly named one of Chicago’s Top Doctors.
