Diego Espinoza-Peralta, MD, MSc, currently serves as Vice President of the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology (SMNE) for 2026, following key leadership roles including Secretary of the Society and President of both the College of Endocrinologists of Sonora and the SMNE Sonora Chapter. Endocrinologist at Centro Médico “Dr. Ignacio Chávez” (ISSSTESON) and Director/Principal Investigator at Investigación Médica Sonora, S.C., is a leading Mexican endocrinologist recognized for his work in diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic disease. Trained at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición “Salvador Zubirán,” he completed advanced specialization in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

He is an experienced principal investigator in multiple phase III and IV clinical trials across diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular risk, collaborating with global pharmaceutical leaders.
