Christos S. Mantzoros, MD, DSc, PhD h.c. mult. is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He has also served as a Professor of Environmental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health and adj. Professor of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. He is licensed to practice in both the USA and the European Union. Dr. Mantzoros is Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism and Director of Human Nutrition, actively practices in inpatient and outpatient settings and is the Editor in Chief of Metabolism, Clinical and Experimental (IF:11.9). He is on the Board of ALBA Business School and had served on the Board of Hellenic College Holy Cross.
Dr. Mantzoros has published more than 1,100 scientific papers on topics including obesity, Cardio Kidney Liver Metabolic Health, GLP-1 RAs and centrally acting agonists, adipokines, myokines and skeletal muscle changes in healthy and overweight individuals, obesity and weight loss management, MASH , neurocognitive abnormalities and malignancies. His corpus has received more than 196,000 citations with H-index of 168 (GoogleScholar). He has also coauthored more than 240 collaborative papers with the Look Ahead Group. He has applied for more than 20 patents and has received most, while others are pending.
Among the 185 persons who graduated from his own Laboratory, 2 are CEOs, 2 CMOs and many are VPs or scientists in pharma, 18 are full Professors and many Associate and Assistant Professors in academia. He has received many honors and awards, including four honorary PHDs, many honorary and visiting Professorships worldwide and the Outstanding Scholarly Physician as well as the Outstanding Clinical Investigator Awards from the Endocrine Society.
His research has been featured in a long list of print, radio, and electronic media including the New York Times, CNN, BBC News, NPR, Time, and the Wall Street Journal.
