Vittoria Favero, MD PhD

Vittoria Favero, MD, PhD, is a Clinical Endocrinologist and Postdoctoral Fellow at ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda and the University of Milan's Department of Medical Biotechnologies and Translational Medicine. She also contributes to academic mentorship as a Medical Student Tutor within the International Medical School at the same institution.
Her recent research focuses on evaluating cortisol secretion in patients with adrenal tumors, specifically investigating its pathophysiological links to skeletal fragility, immune system alterations, and cardiovascular complications.
Dr. Favero has co-authored 34 publications in peer-reviewed journals, achieving an H-index of 12.
She is a principal/co-investigator for a major national grant funded by the Italian Ministry of Health (Ricerca Finalizzata 2024, GR-2024-12380612), focusing on mapping cortisol responses in trauma and emergency general surgery. Furthermore, her early-career contributions have earned her the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) Young Investigator Award in 2021, and the Italian Society of Osteoporosis, Mineral Metabolism and Skeletal Diseases (SIOMMMS) Young Investigator Research Award in 2025.
