Mirjam Christ-Crain, Prof

Mirjam Christ-Crain studied medicine in Basel and Vienna and did her MD and her habilitation at the University of Basel and her PhD 2008 at the University of London. From 2009 to 2015 she had a research professorship of the Swiss National Science Foundation. From 2014-2023 she was Head of the Department of Clinical Research of the University of Basel. Today, she is full Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Basel and Head of the Clinic for Endocrinology at the University hospital of Basel, Switzerland.
From 2020-2024 she was chair of the education committee and is now President-elect of the European Society of Endocrinology.
Her main research interest are clinical trials in the area of vasopressin-dependent disorders of fluid homeostasis, i.e. Vasopressin deficiency (central diabetes insipidus) and hyponatremia.
