Christian Girgis is Associate Professor and Head of Specialty of Internal Medicine at the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney. He leads the Fracture Liaison Service and Metabolic Bone Programs at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He graduated from UNSW (MBBS, 2005) and completed his PhD at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research on the vitamin D receptor (2015), followed by a visiting scholarship at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies (CA, USA). His research focuses on vitamin D, sequential therapies for postmenopausal osteoporosis, and rare bone diseases. He currently serves as President elect of the Australia and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS). He is a committed advocate for bone health and translational research.
