Henrik Elenius, MD, is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at NIIDDK, NIH. He got his medical degree from Uppsala University, Sweden, before completing his internal medicine residency at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital (New Rochelle, NY) and clinical research endocrinology fellowhip at the NIH Clinical Center (Bethesda, MD). Working with principal investigator Lynnette K Nieman, MD, his clinical research focuses on the diagnosis and treament of hypercortisolism, with current projects including a phase 1b/2a study of the investigational ACTH-antagonist Atumelnant, optimizing the desmopressin stimulation test in patients with Cushing syndrome, evaluation of Ga68-PentixaFor PET/CT in endogenous hypercortisolism and primary aldosteronism, and defining circadian steroid rhythms in mild autonomous cortisol secretion, while exploring ketoconazole as a potential medical therapy .
