Manrong Xu is a PhD candidate in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and a visiting PhD student in Dr. Carolyn Cummins’s laboratory at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of metabolic comorbidities, macrophage-mediated inflammatory regulation in obesity, and nuclear receptor biology. She integrates clinical epidemiology, immunometabolism, and proteomics to investigate metabolic disease progression and tissue-specific regulatory mechanisms. Her current work examines the abundance and circadian rhythm of nuclear receptor proteins across metabolic tissues, with the goal of improving understanding of metabolic homeostasis and endocrine regulation.
