Prof. Chi Bun Chan is the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Science and an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. He also serves as President of the Hong Kong Society of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Reproduction. His research focuses on elucidating novel signaling pathways that regulate energy metabolism in contexts such as exercise, aging, obesity, and diabetes, with the aim of developing targeted therapeutics for metabolic disorders. Using unique knockout mouse models, his group has identified several new signaling molecules that influence lipid and glucose homeostasis across adipocytes, skeletal muscle, and the liver.
