My name is Thomas R. Locascio, BS, and I am currently a Gap Year Intern at Northwestern Medicine. I recently graduated from Duke University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Chemistry. My research interests include cardiovascular, metabolic, and renal disease, with a particular focus on the effects of GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy on blood pressure and cardiovascular outcomes. At Northwestern Medicine, I am involved in clinical and research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and the management of chronic disease. I plan to attend medical school and pursue a career as a physician dedicated to advancing evidence-based patient care.
