Dr. Sarimar Agosto-Salgado is an Associate Member- Oncologic Endocrinologist at the Department of Head and Neck-Endocrine Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Agosto-Salgado subspecialized by completing the Advanced Oncologic Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas (2018-2019). She joined Moffitt Cancer Center in 2021 after practicing at UT Southwestern Medical Center for two years, focusing on endocrine tumors and advanced thyroid cancer. Her clinical interest includes rare advanced endocrine tumors including advanced thyroid cancer management with targeted therapies and immunotherapy for radioactive iodine refractory differentiated thyroid cancer, medullary, and anaplastic thyroid cancer, metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma and adrenal cancer. Through the Office of Community Outreach, Engagement & Equity (COEE) at Moffitt Cancer Center she has been the moderator for the Spanish version of the Podcast “Cancer en Nuestra Comunidad” (“Cancer in our Community”). At present, she is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Thyroid Cancer Panel. As a member of the International Thyroid Oncology Group (ITOG) she has served as co-chair of the Educational Program Committee and Board of Directors member. At the American Thyroid Association (ATA), she served as an active member of the Clinical Affairs Committee (CAC) from 2019-2023 and subgroup leader of the “Guidelines Teaching Tools Subcommittee”. Through this committee, she worked on the development of instructional material to facilitate the adaptation of the latest anaplastic thyroid cancer guidelines from 2021. At present she is an active member of committees in AACE, NANETS & ATA.
