Dr. Carolyn Cummins is an Associate Professor in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto and the Associate Scientific Director of PRiME (Next-generation Precision Medicine Initiative at U of T). She completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry (McGill), Ph.D. in pharmaceutical chemistry (UCSF), and postdoctoral training with David Mangelsdorf at UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas). Her lab focuses on the study of nuclear hormone receptors in metabolic disease with a special focus on drug target validation and early drug discovery. She provides lectures on nuclear hormone receptors at the ‘Frontiers in Reproduction’ course at MBL and has been the recipient of numerous teaching awards from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. She is funded by CIHR, NSERC and HSFC and has co-authored over 90 research publications and 3 patents. She currently serves on the Laureate Awards committee for the Endocrine Society and previously served on the Annual Meeting Steering Committee (2019-2023) and was the Basic Science Chair for the annual meeting in 2023.
