Tulay Guran is Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology at Marmara University School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. She completed her training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology in Istanbul and undertook postdoctoral training in molecular endocrinology at the University of Birmingham, UK, where she initiated her research career focusing on rare disorders of steroidogenesis.
Her research group at Marmara University investigates rare forms of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), non-CAH primary adrenal insufficiency, and disorders/differences of sex development. She is actively involved in several national and international committees and research initiatives, including the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), I-DSD, and I-CAH. She previously served as Coordinator of the ESPE Disorders/Differences of Sex Development Working Group and is currently a member of the ESPE Winter School Steering Committee and the ESPE Science Committee.
Professor Guran serves as Associate Editor for Hormone Research in Pediatrics and the Journal of Endocrinological Investigation. She is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Turkish Ministry of Health Neonatal Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Screening Program. Her honors include the ESPE Young Investigator Award in 2015.
