Dr. Brito is an endocrinologist, thyroidologist, and professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He serves as Director of the Artificial Intelligence Care Laboratory and the Mayo Clinic Shared Decision-Making National Resource Center and as Innovation Chair within the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. In addition, Dr. Brito contributes as a guideline methodologist for the Endocrine Society and is a panelist for the current American Thyroid Association Guideline for the management of hypothyroidism.
His extensive research portfolio includes serving as principal investigator on several NIH R01 grants—one of which is supported by the prestigious MERIT Award from the National Cancer Institute—and as co-investigator on multiple grants from AHRQ and PCORI. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Dr. Brito’s recent honors include the 2021 Career Investigator Award from the Endocrine Society, the 2022 Van Meter Award from the American Thyroid Association, the 2023 Rising Star in Endocrinology Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, and his selection as the 2023 Maloof Lecturer and member of the American Society of Clinical Investigators.
