Dr. Subramanian is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington and Medical Director of the UW Lipid Clinic, where she specializes in lipid disorders, diabetes management, and cardiometabolic health. Her clinical and research work centers on hypertriglyceridemia, lipodystrophy, and technology-driven approaches to diabetes care.
A nationally recognized expert in lipidology, Dr. Subramanian has contributed to clinical guidelines and educational programs through the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, and National Lipid Association. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters.
At UW Medicine, she chairs CME courses in diabetes and endorinology for primary care providers and leads system-wide initiatives to improve diabetes care. She is also deeply committed to training the next generation of specialists, mentoring medical students, residents, and Endocrine and Cardiology fellows. In 2022, she received the UW CARES Award for exemplary patient care.
