Dr. Rasheed Ahmad is a Principal Scientist and Head of the Department of Immunology & Microbiology at the Dasman Diabetes Institute, Kuwait. His research focuses on the molecular and immunological mechanisms linking obesity to chronic inflammation and metabolic diseases, including insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). He studies adipose tissue biology, immune cell–adipocyte interactions, and the role of diet-induced epigenetic changes in metabolic dysfunction. Dr. Ahmad’s work has contributed to advancing our understanding of how obesity drives persistent inflammation and metabolic dysregulation, with the goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets to improve metabolic health
