I am an endowed Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and serve as Division Director of the Midlife Health Center at the University of Virginia. I have led the development of multiple clinical guidelines and position statements, including chairing the 2017 NAMS Position Statement on Hormone Therapy and co-chairing the 2021 NAMS Position Statement on Osteoporosis. I contributed as a content expert and author to the 2021 ACOG Practice Guideline on Osteoporosis Prevention, Screening, and Diagnosis, the 2025 European Guidelines on Hormone Therapy, and the 2026 International Menopause Society Global Position on Hormone Therapy. Previously I was a coauthor on Endocrine Society Menopausal Hormone Therapy and Bioidentical Hormone Therapy. My work includes over 176 peer-reviewed publications, 30 invited papers, and 18 invited chapters. As Principal Investigator, I have led more than 30 clinical trials, including serving as US lead for the Oasis 2 Phase 3 RCT of Elinzanetant for VMS in menopausal women. This study showed positive safety and efficacy results, published in JAMA, and contributed to FDA approval in October 2025.
