Dr. Sarah Mayson is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. She received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical interests include thyroid nodules/cancer, hyperthyroidism and metabolic bone disease. She leads the thyroid nodule clinical program at the University of Colorado Hospital, participates in the hospital’s multidisciplinary thyroid cancer clinic, and serves as a staff endocrinologist at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. Dr. Mayson has been the Director of the Fellowship Program in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Colorado since 2019. She also co-founded the University’s Thyroid Oncology Fellowship and served as its initial Program Director from 2017-2023. She is an Associate Editor for JCEM Case Reports and an editorial board member for JCEM. She previously wrote questions for the Endocrine Society’s Endocrine Self-Assessment Program (ESAP) and served on ESAP-In Training Exam Steering Group. Dr. Mayson is currently serving on the Amercian Thyroid Association Thyroid Nodule Guidelines Task Force.
