Professor Liat de Vries is a Full Professor at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University. She is a senior pediatric endocrinologist at the Institute for Endocrinology and Diabetes at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel and serves as Director of the Diabetes Unit since 2012.
She earned her MD degree with honors from Tel Aviv University and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at the same institution. Since 1999, she has been a senior endocrinologist at the center.
Her clinical and research interests focus on puberty and its disorders, including congenital adrenal hyperplasia and differences in sex development (DSD). She has presented her work at local, national, and international conferences and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, she established and leads the DSD clinical and research program at the medical center.
Professor de Vries is actively involved in undergraduate medical education at Tel Aviv University, where she has coordinated the Endocrinology course for medical students. She has received multiple awards for excellence in teaching and has supervised numerous MD theses, as well as mentored pediatric residents in basic and clinical translational research projects.
