Dr. Ryder is an endocrine oncologist with a joint appointment in both endocrinology and medical oncology where she focuses on common and rare endocrine malignancies and across the spectrum of very low risk to advanced stage disease.
Her prior research interest in the laboratory focused on understanding the tumor microenvironment in thyroid cancers and showed for the 1st time that immune infiltrating macrophages contributed to advanced disease, that when targeted pharmacologically can reverse advanced disease.
Currently, Dr. Ryder’s focuses on the care of patients with endocrine cancers, particularly advanced thyroid cancers. Her research focusses on clinical and translational efforts to improve the management and outcomes of patients with advanced endocrine cancers.
She is a member of several national committees, including the ATA, ITOG and NCCN practice and guidelines panels.
