Dr Bruno Ferraz-de-Souza MD PhD is a Brazilian-trained endocrinologist with a PhD in molecular endocrinology in the UK, with ample experience in clinical endocrinology, metabolic bone disorders, translational research and science communication. He is currently Professor of Medicine and National Head of Student Matters, Selection & Pathways at the University of Notre Dame Australia, overseeing medical student admission, wellbeing and success for the Sydney, Fremantle and Broome MD programs. Previously, was Deputy Dean at the University of Western Australia Medical School, Tenured PI and Attending Physician in Endocrinology leading the Bone Fragility clinic at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Head of the Osteoporosis and Bone Health Center at Hospital Sirio-Libanes, Sao Paulo.
Dr Ferraz-de-Souza is a Director At-Large at the Endocrine Society Board of Directors and Chair of the Governance Subcommittee of the Board, having previously served as Chair of the Committee for Opportunity and Reaching Excellence and Chair of the Publications Core Committee. Previously, he was a member of the Early-Stage Investigator Subcommittee of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Metabolism, President of the Department of Basic Endocrinology at the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology, and Scientific Director of the Brazilian Association for Bone Assessment and Metabolism. Dr Ferraz-de-Souza is an Associate Editor of the Journal of the Endocrine Society (JES), previously Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Archives of Endocrinology and Metabolism and Senior Editor of Endocrine Connections.
