Dr. Genere is a Senior Staff Consultant at Henry Ford Health in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Bone and Mineral Disorders and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her medical education at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, followed by a combined program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Chicago, where she also completed her Chief Year, and finally Specialty Training in Endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where her clinical and research time focused in areas of Endocrine Neoplasia.

In her spare time, she enjoys travel, hiking, reading mystery novels, and spending time with her husband and two young kids.
