Dr. Alessandro Maria Berton is a consultant endocrinologist at the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism of the City of Health and Science University Hospital of Turin, Italy.
His clinical and research activities focus on hypothalamic-pituitary disorders, osteo-metabolic diseases, and hydro-saline metabolism. Over the years, he has authored and co-authored several scientific papers investigating the role of copeptin and arginine vasopressin in disorders of water balance and in the management of patients admitted to emergency settings, contributing to the understanding of copeptin as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in acute endocrine and electrolyte disorders. He has received national and international awards from both the European Society of Endocrinology and the Italian Society of Endocrinology.
Dr. Berton is Chair of the research group on Hydro-saline Disorders at the Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Turin and currently serves as Chair of the Hydro-saline Club of the Italian Society of Endocrinology.
