Dr. Montaser holds dual M.Sc. degrees—one in Statistics and Computer Science from Mansoura University, Egypt, and another in Mathematical Engineering from Charles III University of Madrid, Spain. He earned his Ph.D. in Automation, Robotics, and Industrial Computer Science from Valencia Polytechnic University, Spain. He has also been a visiting researcher at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and a postdoctoral research associate at the Center for Diabetes Technology, University of Virginia School of Medicine. Currently, he is a Research Associate at Indiana University School of Medicine.
His research focuses on stochastic and mathematical modeling, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applications in diabetes. He specializes in tracking disease progression, statistical pattern recognition, big data analysis, and predictive modeling of physiological systems.
Dr. Montaser has authored numerous publications on glucose prediction models and AI/ML applications in diabetes, particularly for identifying individuals at risk of disease progression. His work is supported by multiple grants from Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), Dexcom, NIH/NIDDK (DartCF Pilot and Feasibility Grant), and The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
