Dr. Laura Heiser, Ph.D., is Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Co-Leader of the Knight Cancer Institute Quantitative Oncology Program, and Associate Director of Complex Systems Modeling in the Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research Center at OHSU. Her laboratory is focused on using data-intensive approaches to identify predictors of drug response and resistance, phenotypic changes associated with molecular aberrations and therapeutic response, and the influence of the microenvironment on cancer cells. Dr. Heiser completed graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh and post-doctoral training at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In 2025, she was elected Fellow to the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
