Jinpeng Sun, Professor and PhD Supervisor, serves as President of the Institute of Advanced Medical Research, Shandong University, and Chair of the Department of Biophysics, Peking University, as well as Director of the NHC Key Laboratory of Otorhinolaryngology. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and its continuous funding, and a New Cornerstone Investigator. Professor Sun has systematically developed and refined the theory of GPCR biased signaling, revealed the biased signal transduction mechanisms of various GPCRs, elucidated the diverse ligand recognition mechanisms of prostaglandin receptors and dopamine receptors, discovered the membrane receptor subfamily of steroid hormones, and clarified the mechanosensing mechanisms of adhesion GPCRs. As corresponding author, he has published more than 90 papers in journals including Nature, Science, Cell, Nature Metabolism, Nature Chemical Biology, Cell Research, PNAS, and Nature Communications.
