After Anesthesiology Residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital-Harvard Medical School, Dr. Yu completed fellowship in Pain Medicine at University of California San Francisco prior to his faculty appointment. In addition to clinical responsibilities as an anesthesiologist specialized in pain management, Dr. Yu is currently leading a multidisciplinary collaboration to better define the neuroimmune interactions between tissue injury and nociceptor neurons; and identify new therapeutic targets for both neuropathic pain and injury-induced heterotpic ossifcation, two clinical challenges encountered after surgery and trauma.
