Laurence Amar, MD, PhD, is Professor of Endocrinology at Université Paris Cité and Head of the Hypertension Unit at Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou, Paris. She is a specialist in endocrine hypertension and adrenal disorders, with particular expertise in primary aldosteronism and pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma. She leads a reference center for rare adrenal diseases and is actively involved in national and European research networks. Her research focuses on the genetic and molecular mechanisms of endocrine hypertension and rare adrenal tumors.
She is affiliated with Inserm UMRS-970 (PARCC) and the centre de recherche des cordeliers, working on aldosterone-related disorders and rare cancer genetics.
Professor Amar has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and has an h-index of 69.
She serves as President of the Endocrine Hypertension Working Group of the European Society of Hypertension.
She is also a member of the French Society of Hypertension, the ENSAT European network and the ENDO society.
She is actively involved in clinical innovation, digital health, and precision medicine approaches in hypertension care estpecially endocrine hypertension.
